otazky_clanekCEFF does not claim that CEFF additives (perservants, artificial colours, sweeteners and glutamates) are harmful. Under current EU and national legislation food may only contain safe additives. On the other hand for a large number of additives must be observed maximum quantity otherwise even the law permits health problems. There is also a list of additives that cannot be added from safety reasons to baby food. There are many cases when a certain additive was used for long time after which it became clear that it causes health problems and it was withdrawn from the legislation. It should be noted that testing of additives in not performed for ethical reasons on children, pregnant woman, persons with health problems and does not cover long term consumption of additives. Heath impact for consumption of various combinations additives is basically not performed from technical reasons either. Therefore we recommend to reduce the consumption of chemicals and to cook from fresh and raw ingredients or food produced on a natural basis.
